The 1st Pack-Out Story

I knew there had to be a better way as I climbed the steep terrain with 50 lbs of elk on my shoulder.  I wasn't using a pack frame, I had the elk in a canvas game bag.  I found that it was easier to take a game bag that would fold up and fit in my fanny pack, than it was to take my pack frame.

At first I carried my pack frame while hunting, but  I knew that was not the way to go.  They are cumbersome and noisy.  As I walked down the logging road back to camp, I started thinking about a BETTER WAY to pack out that first load of elk.  Then I had a thought - What if?   What if this game bag had straps like a back pack ?  And what if it would fold up just like this canvas game bag and fit in my fanny pack ?  I knew I was onto something that would work for the way I hunted

After I got back home I started designing the elk pack. Weeks and months went by and each design got a little better. After 2 years I felt like I had a pack that I would be happy to use and also offer it to other hunters. I designed this elk pack to stand up to the demands that I would place on it year after year.  One thing I didn't want to worry about was, whether my pack would fail when I was in the bottom of a canyon packing out an elk.

We finished the proto-type elk pack and game bags only a week before the elk season started.

The 1st morning of the  2005 Colorado archery elk season I was in my stand for only 30 minutes when a nice 5x5 walked by, and 20 minutes later I was standing over my 23rd elk with a bow.  As I walked up to my elk, all I could do was smile.  I said, let's see if this pack works as good at packing out elk as it did at packing dirt. (I field tested the pack using dirt to simulate the weight of boneless elk meat).

IT DID WORK!!!  better than I hoped for.  See, dirt doesn't conform to your back like a load of boneless elk does. I couldn't wait to test the new game bags also.

When I got to camp everyone had already returned from their morning hunt.  On that second trip the 4 of us took our pack frames and the new game bags to test.

I knew there had to be a better way to attach your game bag to your pack frame.  After packing out over 30 elk, (mine plus the one's I've helped my friends pack out)   the problem that I've always had with game bags is ... they loosen up and need to be retied and adjusted several times on your pack out.  If you have packed out game with a pack frame you know what I'm talking about.  Once our game bags are secured to your pack frame they NEVER need to be readjusted.  I like to spend the time I stop to rest, actually resting, not readjusting my game bags.

I asked the guys when we got back to camp what they thought of the Game Bag and Elk Pack. They asked, when can we get them?" I said.  "As soon as I get them on the market I will send you one."

They told me the game bags worked great and did not move or need to be readjusted.  Instead of taking at least 30 feet of  rope to secure the old canvas style game bag, it takes just 10 feet with ours (included) You can have our game bag secured on your pack frame in less than 2 minutes, and once secured, you won't have to worry about them.  They stay secured...

Well, that's my story, and I have spent the last several years  designing our 3 products, and I now feel very good about offering them for sale.  These products are designed to my high standard for packing game.  And that standard is what I demand from my equipment.  I designed them NOT TO FAIL...

Take a look at our products and the features and benefits they will provide for you.  And I'm sure you will be as happy about their quality, function and usefulness as you make your equipment choice.  We will only offer you products that will stand up to the demands that you place on the equipment that you use.

         Game Bag.

Our game bag is made from the same material as the elk pack.  As you can see, it attaches very securely to the pack frame and won't come loose.

        Turkey Pack.

All 1st Pack-Out products are made with the same high quality material.  I had a very comfortable pack of about 1/2 mile.
